recent projects:
Hi there! I’m Emily Truelove! I’m a DFW-based theatre artist and graduate from the University of Texas at Arlington, with a BFA in Musical Theatre and a minor in dance.
Much of my work is based in the creation and sustainability of safe spaces for artists where they can create impactful work centered around their identity. These kinds of spaces, large and small, are key to a more inclusive and equitable industry. I'm excited to keep pushing for change and to work with other artists who are doing the same!
In addition to performing, I’m also a theatre teacher working across DFW and a freelance graphic designer for social media. I’ve written and directed two short plays produced by UTA, created devised work in partnership with MIT, stage managed both dance and theatre, and choreographed modern, contemporary, and jazz dance.
Outside of the theatre, I have two cats- Minerva and Chicken! They are my entire life. If we work together, you will absolutely be receiving cat-themed birthday and holiday cards. I also love to paint, read, and play Legend of Zelda!
